Agenda : Annual Treasure Hunt

Venue : Scout Den Vicinity, school compound, National Mosque, KL Sentral,
Sg. Besi chinese cemetery, St. John Cathedral, National Mosque, National Monument,

Day 1
1830 hours : Quite lot of boyscouts came and the others were still on the way. I fell in my
patrol and checked the boyscouts’ attire. I also told them the safety rules
during Treasure Hunt and be prepared for this big hunt.
1930 hours : TL Poh fell in the boyscouts troop at the Quadrangle and then TL Poh,
Mr. Leong and Inspector Dev Kumar gave a short speech before TL Poh
announced the first clue “no entry”. After we broke off, the hunt begun. I leaded my patrol to the places that has “no entry” sign but we didn’t found any clue.
1950 hours : We ran to Koperasi because the “no entry” word was paint on the wall. Rct. Azwan found the first clue and we solved it by using Morse codes. We found the second clue in front of the hall after we found out the answer of the first clue was “Sultan of Selangor”.
2010 hours : The clue showed that our shadow was SPS Wan Dzarif. After I gave my report, we moved to National Museum. We just walked bigger step because Rct. Dominic injured his leg during the rugby match.
2110 hours : We waited at the National Museum but SPS Dzarif was at KL Sentral. So
we went there and met him. Two clues were given to us and some
boyscouts went to buy drinks and snacks. We got “SPF” and "honda JR states hcl" from
those clues but we went back to National Museum after I gave report.
2240 hours : SPS Dzarif hide the clue before we solve it. Time was going but we were
still searching for the clue which were wrapped as small as thumb nail. We had used up all ours brain juice but we still can’t solve it without the help of our shadow. Aftre we jumbled the answer “captain baker nur huem” and we got “tanah perkuburan cina” which leaded us to the chinese cemetery.

Day 2
0130 hours : We reached at the cemetery and the other patrols were also waiting there.
We headed inside together after TL Bryn fell in us. The boyscouts were
extremely quite during their visit to the cemetery. Furthermore, the hunt was
carried in the middle of the night made them scared especially the
first-formers. “Gugor” was the message but we went to St. John Cathedral
with Fox patrol.
0340 hours : On the way, we bought foods and drinks by one of the 7-11 shop to recharged our energy. Then the boyscouts went to the Mc Donald’s toilet. We had reached the St. John Cathedral and found the clue inside the public phone. We got the massage “faith” which leaded us to National Mosque.

And again we went there with Fox patrol.
0500 hours : After a long journey, we reached the National Mosque. We spend a lot of time on searching the clue because SPS Dzarif planted it inside the grass. The muslims boyscouts prayed when the speaker sound. Actually we had to go National Museum because the message was “stop watch” but we went National Monument with Fox patrol. We started to move after checked the map.
0645 hours : The first thing we did at the destination was morning exercise. Then a
boyscouts found the clue on the lamp post. The message showed “ten power
of five” which means mega. Due to lack of time, so I decided to go Venus
Fly fountain to solve the other two clue.
0740 hours : We finally found one clue in the pool and solve it together but we can’t
solve it because we need a form 4 chemistry text book. So we skipped this
clue and did the last one. We went back to school until we got the answer
“NL Stalker” which was a anagram, KL Sentral was the place.
0850 hours : Finally we reached school and a clues were hiding behind the gate that
leads to the place where the final clue in VIOBA that brings us to the plaque. After traveling over a distance of 45km overnight without sleeping was not a easy task especially for those first formers on foot. I can see every boyscouts were exhausted. But with determination, my boyscouts were lifting up their spirit to find the plaque without caring their tired legs, cracking brain, blurred eyes and thirsty lips. TL Poh fell in all PLs and showed that the treasure was around the field. At last the PL of Tiger patrol found it near the banana trees. The hunt ended but the boyscouts still displayed high level of spirit and great enthusiasm.
1010 hours : TL Poh fell in the troop and declared Tiger patrol was the unofficial winner of this great hunt. They received two bottles of soft drinks as their reward.
1040 hours : After suffering all day long around KL, it can be concluded that my
boyscouts enjoyed the sweet and bitter moments thay had gone through and gained a lot of experience from this unique event which is a test for their physical and mental endurance. I fell in my patrol to congratulate them for being so spiritual every second. I dismissed them after a short talk.

Job Week ( TTDI )

Venue : Scout Den Vicinity, Taman Tun Datuk Ismail

0700 hours : I reached but no other Lion patrol boyscouts there.

0815 hours : We moved down to the Pasar Seni bus station and took Rapid KL bus to KL
Central.
0850 hours : Then we went TTDI with Rapid KL bus U82 from KL Central.
0940 hours : All patrol went to their own way after reached TTDI bus station. My patrol
split into two groups and continued our works. We had did some jobs such
as weeding, saw woods, wash cars and cleaning garden.
1400 hours : The other group that leaded by Rct. Shukri and my group went back to the
bus stop.
1430 hours : All boyscouts had their lunch at the KFC restaurant except Eagle patrol.
1510 hours : After that, all boyscouts went back to KL Central and took KL Monorail to
school.
1640 hours : Boyscouts went back home.

Job Week ( Damansara Heights )

Agenda : Job Week
Venue : Scout Den Vicinity, Damansara Heights

0730 hours : More and more boyscouts came to Scout Den and a few boyscouts changed into their full scout.
0745 hours : The PLs checked the boyscouts’ attire and found out some of them didn’t have a proper set of full scout.
0815 hours : We were going to Pasar Seni, I reminded my boyscouts not to forget their belongings. We walked down together with others patrol and seniors. We separated into two groups because all boyscouts can’t fit in a bus.
0830 hours : We switch to Rapid KL bus U82 after we reached KL Central.
0910 hours : After we stopped at Damansara Heights bus station, we moved to the resident area. We started to find jobs to collect donation. Some house owners who were generous donated to us without asking us to do the jobs for them. We had did jobs such as washing car, weeding and cleaning
windows.
1210 hours : Due to the boyscouts were tired, so we decided to rest in a mamat restaurant, we met Falcon patrol there. After the boyscouts filled up their stomach, we continued our task.
1310 hours : Unfortunately, the houses that we asked were already covered by the other patrol.
1420 hours : We returned to the place where we dropped by this morning. In the journey to the place, we met Eagle and Tiger patrol.
1450 hours : Rct. David Tan went back with his father when we reached there. All patrols and seniors were in a KFC restaurant. While the PLs were giving the donation to TL, the boyscouts were having their meal.
1520 hours : Rct. Devagar went back to Scout Den with some boyscouts by bus but the
other three form 1s were still with me.
1540 hours : Those boyscouts who had not went back followed TL Poh took bus to KL
Central. We split into two groups again because the bus was quite full.
1600 hours : All boyscouts and seniors took the next bus and went KL Central.
1700 hours : We reached KL Central and split again because everyone had to go back in
different ways. Everyone went back after TL Poh knew where were they
going.

Sport Day ( 29-3-2008 )

On that day moring, the boyscouts started to come after 9am. Our performance was worthy of an excellent one. You were dedicated until the last day of drills and you showed a good performance. I hope that you will not forget what you were thought during the training period.
Winning 2nd place is a great honour and I hope you will show your commitment through out the years ahead.

Wednesday Troop Meeting 27th of February 2008

On 2.30pm, TL Bryn fell in the troop and told us there was no meeting on this Saturday due to study leave. After TL Bryn broke us off, I fell in my patrol and inform them GTKYC will be on 14th, 15th and 16th of March and what to bring for the camp. Before I dismissed them, I wished them will get excellent result in their exam.

Mini Treasure Hunt

Date : 23rd of February 2008
Agenda : Mini Treasure Hunt

Venue : Scout Den Vicinity, School Compound

0730 hours : Boyscouts came to Scout Den with their parents. The parents were here to
attend Parent’s Meeting.
0800 hours : TL Poh told the PLs to change the hall base to behind “Bengkel KH” and
changed the task because there was a function in the hall.
0830 hours : TL Poh fell in the troop and all the boyscouts did 20 push-ups after PLs gave their patrol attendance report. All PLs broke off and ran to the Green Wall. I am the shadow of Falcon patrol and PL Sujev was Lion patrol’s shadow.
0900 hours : The boyscouts came to the Green Wall after TL Poh announced that
“Yellow and Blue” was the master clue. I asked Falcon patrol to run two
rounds around school and told them the clue “Hammer”. After they figure
out the answer was behind “ Bengkel KH”, they ran there.
0930 hours : QM Ariff gave his report before I gave them a IQ question. They run out of ideas, so I gave them some tips. When they solved the question, they did 30 push-ups as their bonus. They went to “Koperasi” after I gave them the clue “beside nature”.
1000 hours : Falcon patrol boyscouts found the clue and started to solve it. They solved it
in a few minutes and finally got the message “Sultan S”. Their bonus was to
run three rounds around school and straight went to VIOBA.
1050 hours : They wasted a lot of time to find the clue. I gave them penalty and told them
the location of the clue. One boyscouts was surfing the Internet with his
handphone to get who is the author of The Lake Isle of Innisfree, The Dead Crow and the Phantom of the Opera. They ran to Form 6 block after solving the clue “ True Blue”.
1120 hours : Rct. Edwin found the clue on the fan and they solved it together. They did 30 sit-ups and ran to the Pavillion with the clue “Two But One New”.
1140 hours : Their task in this base was to take picture for the ten items given. The items
was Korean coin, casino coin, one million US Dollar, battery, scarf,
whipping rope, compass, thermometer, heart shaped stone and a magnet cow.
1210 hours : Only five items was found by them. Due to the lack of time, Falcon patrol didn’t finish their last base. They went back to Scout Den.
1230 hours : TL Poh fell in the troop. There was no winner for this agenda. TL Poh dismissed us after we sang the troop song.
1240 hours : I talked to my boyscouts and dismissed them after I took some pictures.

Wednesday Troop Meeting 20-2-08

TL Poh fell in the troop on 3.30pm. Then two new form 1's joined our troop. TL Poh briefed us about the mini tresure hunt and parent's meeting. After TL Poh dismissed us, I teached my boyscouts the way to slove clues. 4.30pm, I dismissed my boyscouts and the PL's had a short meeting with TL Poh.

Bases Game

Rct. Yuan Hong, Rct. Ashman, Rct. Muhamad Azwan, Rct. Ahmad Aizat,
Rct. Faris
Absenties : Rct. Dominic, Rct. Barathan, Rct. Linggeshwaran

0800 hours : I reached Scout Den and the PL’s fell in the boyscouts. The PL’s and TL Poh were

teaching the Form 1’s and Form 2’s some knowledge about first aid.
0900 hours : TL Poh fell in the troop and the PL’s gave their patrol attendance report.
After TL Poh broke off us, all boyscouts changed to PE attire to get ready
for the agenda. All the boyscouts ran 3 rounds around the school as their
warming up exercise. Then I leaded my patrol to our first base, class 3K.
0910 hours : SPS Loke was our shadow at the base. All boyscouts blind folded
themselves and follow the rope and crossed the obstacles. After the
obstacles, we made a fisher man knot to get the bottle on the table.
Rct. Yuan Hong and Rct. Ashman finally get the bottle. We run around
School to get bonus.
0950 hours : We were going to our second base, Form 6 block. SPL Ru Sheong asked us
to threw an egg on to the chair. The first egg was broke and the second egg
didn’t brake until the end. The boyscouts shared a raw egg and we moved to
our third base, the gadget side.
1020 hours : Our task was to make a star with the shoelaces. SS Uma asked us to blind
folded our self. I conducted my boyscouts and finally made a star. We tied
our legs together and walked around as our bonus.
1150 hours : SS Uma asked us to go the fourth base, beside the Scout Den. Our work was
to make a fire and burn the lashing rope. We did it in a few minutes and
went to the Pavilion, our fifth base.
1210 hours : SS Brain asked us to throw 5 coins into a cup. After that, we did invisible
chair as our bonus. Due to lack of time, we went back to Scout Den and
change back to full mufti.
1230 hours : TL Poh fell in the troop and announced the result. Hornbill patrol was the
second runner-up, Fox patrol was the runner-up and the winner was Tiger
patrol. TL Poh dismissed us after we sang the troop song.
1250 hours : We separated the mandarin oranges to all the Form 1’s and Form 2’s to
wished them a happy Chinese new year.
1310 hours : I fell in my boyscouts and discussed about our performances.
1330 hours : I dismissed my boyscouts.

Wednesday Troop Meeting 13-2-08

TL Bryn fell in the troop at 3.30pm. We had installed 3 new form 1's and 1 of them was Lion patrol boyscout. After TL Bryn announced this Saturday agenda is Base Games, he dismissed us. PL Daniel, PL Sujev, 2 form 2's and I were teaching the form 1's troop song meanwhile PL Khai Hsuen and PL Han Ming were conducting the other form 2's to clean the Scout Den area. Then I fell in my patrol and briefed them more about Base Games. I dismissed them after they sang the troop song perfectly.

Cooking Competition

Agenda : Cooking Competition

Venue : Scout den Vicinity, Behind Bengkel KH

0730 hours : I came and saw my boyscouts was collecting twigs. Then I helped my
boyscouts to get the fire woods and twigs.
0830 hours : When we heard the whistle sound, all the boyscouts fell in

under TL Poh and TL Bryn. There were 6 absentees from Lion

patrol which was Rct. Shukri, Rct. Ahmad Aizat, Rct.

Ashman, Rct. Linggeshwaran, Rct. Azwan and Rct. Barathan.

Rct. Barathan went to attend a wedding.
The reason for the others absentee yet to be confirm. After all

the PL’s gave their patrol attendance, the TL’s checked our

attires. Before the agenda started, we did our attendance push-

ups.
0900 hours : The boyscouts changed to their PE attire then put all the ingredients and cooking tools near our cooking spot. We began to start the fire. Due to the leaves was wet, so we spent quite lot of time to burn the woods. Finally the fire was stable. I decided to do the fruit pudding first. I boiled the water and poured the powder into it. Then, I let the mixture to cool
down.
0920 hours : Lion patrol cooked the sesame rice balls which are our patrol special.
Meanwhile Rct. David Tan was making the appetizer, tropical
cocktail and the beverage, pineapple punch. The other boyscouts was
maintain the fire.
0940 hours : Our side dish 2, divine omellete was done after the sweet potato chicken had cooked. At the same time, Rct. David Tan was decorating our dishes. I ordered Rct. Erwin and Rct. Devagar to clean the area.
1010 hours : Now we were preparing our main course, the banana leaf fried rice. We put a lot of effort on this dish. Ex-TL Shyan and ex-TL Chen Hung came.
1100 hours : The presentation began with Eagle patrol, followed by Falcon, Hornbill, Fox, Lion and Tiger. Lion patrol presented their dishes to seniors,
scouters and the Ex’s. The scouters commented our dishes while letting
us to try and Rct. Erwin performed a malay song.
1200 hours : The TL’s fell in the troop and announced Eagle patrol was the 2nd runner up and Tiger patrol was the 1st runner up. The winner for this agenda
was Fox patrol.
1220 hours : TL Poh dismissed us. After I had a short talk with my boyscouts, I
dismissed them.

1510hours : Boyscouts stared to come.
1530hours : TL Poh fell in the troop and the Form 1’s installation began.
There were nine new Form 1 installed into this troop. Lion
patrol had a new Form 1, Muhamad Azwan. TL Poh dismissed us
after he announced this Saturday agenda will be Cooking Competition.
1620hours : Lion patrol had a short meeting to decide what to cook on this
Saturday.
1700hours : I dismissed my boyscouts and reminded them to attend the
Cooking Competition.

Scavenger Hunt

Venue : Scout Den Vicinity, School Area, Outside of School

0730 hours : Boyscouts started to come. When I came, Lion patrol didn’t have full attendance.
0830 hours : There were only 2 absentees from Lion patrol. TL Poh fell in the troop and one Form 1 boy was installed into Hornbill patrol. After TL Poh break off us,
then Scavenger Hunt started. I went out with PL Daniel and PL Khai Hsuen from school to buy some items and the Form 2’s led the Form 1’s to find other items.
1145 hours : I reached Scout Den and put down all the items that I had bought. When I asked my boyscouts about their
progress, they said most items from the list were here. I helped my boyscouts to get more items such as
school map and VSG front profile.
1200 hours : The inspection started and we showed all our items to the TL’s and seniors. After that, TL Poh fell in the
troop and we made a double horseshoe. TL Poh announced
Lion patrol was the winner for today’s agenda and Eagle
patrol was the runner- up. I received a packet of
chocolate as our prize. Then, SS Uma threw flour on us
and both TL gave some advices to us. TL Poh dismissed
all the boyscouts.
1300 hours : I congratulated my boyscouts and gave them the
chocolate bars as a gift. Then I dismissed my boyscouts.

Troop Meeting and Installation

Date : 16th of January 2008
Agenda : Form 1’s and Form 2’s Installation
Venue : Scout Den Vicinity

1410 hours : Boyscouts started to come and they cleaned the falling area.
1430 hours : TL Poh fell in the troop and the Form 1’s and Form 2’s installation began.
1600 hours : The installation ended. Total 12 recruit were installed. There were 2
Form 1’s and 1 Form 2’s installed into Lion patrol. Then TL Poh gave
some briefing and dismissed us. I welcome the new comers and
had a short meeting with my boyscouts before they went back.
1630 hours : I dismissed my boyscouts.

Mini Olympics

Agenda : Form 1’s Installation, Mini Olympics
Venue : Scout den Vicinity, Basketball court, Field

0700hours : I reached school and waited at mini clock tower to guide
the new Form 1’s.
0730hours : The boyscouts and Form 1’s stared to come. I lead the
new comers to the scout den.
0830hours : TL Poh fell in the troop and all PL’s gave their reports.
Then, TL Poh and TL Bryn checked the boyscouts attire.
The installation was stared after we did our push-ups.
1030hours : Finally, there were four new Form 1’s in Lion patrol. After
All the Form 1’s were installed to their patrol, we
continued our agenda which was Mini Olympics. We stared
with ‘‘futsal’’ then followed by scout ball.
1045hours : I led Lion Patrol to the basketball court and teached the
Form 1’s about rules of fall in while waiting for the other patrols. There was a ‘‘futsal’’ game between Lion patrol and Falcon patrol in the second match. The result of the game was draw with the score 0-0. After the match, we took a picture of Lion patrol’s boyscouts.
1130hours : The scout ball game began. First match was between
animals patrols and birds patrols. Then the second match was boyscout fought against the seniors. The boyscouts didn’t score any points.
1215hours : The game was ended and the boyscouts changed the ir
attire. TL Poh fell in the troop and gave some briefing. After TL Poh dismissed us, I had a short meeting with my boyscouts.
1245hours : I dismissed my boyscouts.

Agenda : Installation of permanent patrols
Venue : Scout den Vicinity

1430 hours : Boyscouts and senior started to come for troop meeting.
1500 hours : TL Poh asked the boyscouts changed into their fullscout
and cleaned the scout den area.
1510 hours : TL Poh fell in the troop and then the TPL’s gave their
reports. Then TL Poh checked the boyscout’s attire and
announced the permanent patrol for the year 2008. It
began with the PL’s of 2008, TPL Han Ming was the PL of
Eagle. TPS Sujev was chosen as the PL of Falcon. Then,
TPS Iqbal was the PL of Hornbill. Next, the PL of Fox
was TPS Daniel. Followed by TPL Ren Pei as PL of Lion and
TPL Khai Hsuen as PL of Tiger. All the PL’s was called
one by one to receive their badges and whistles. After
that, the Form 2’s boyscouts were chosen to their
permanent patrols. Due to lack of Form 3’s scout, there
was no PS in 2008. Then the PL’s marched into the
middle of horseshoe to recite the scout promise.
1600 hours : TL Poh and TL Bryn gave all the boyscouts advices
regarding our responsibilities and duties. Then TL Poh
announced that Mini Olympics would be this Saturday’s
agenda as well as Form 1’s installation.
1700 hours : TL Poh dismissed us and then the PL’s had a short patrol
meeting with the Form 2’s before we went back.

Physical characteristics of Lion

The lion is the second largest feline after the tiger. With powerful legs, a strong jaw, and long canine teeth, the lion can bring down and kill large prey. Lion coloration varies from light buff to yellowish, reddish or dark ochraceous brown। The underparts are generally lighter and the tail tuft is black. The color of the mane varies from blond to black.

The lion (Panthera leo) is a member of the family Felidae and one of four "big cats" in the genus Panthera. Reaching 272 kg , it is the second-largest cat after the tiger. They currently exist in the wild in sub-Saharan Africa and in Asia with a critically endangered remnant population in northwest India, having disappeared from North Africa, the Middle East and western Asia in historic times. Until the late Pleistocene (about 10,000 years ago), the lion was the most widespread large land mammal beside man. They were found in most of Africa, much of Eurasia from western Europe to India and the Bering land bridge and in the Americas from Yukon to Peru.
Lions live for approximately 10–14 years in the wild, while in captivity they can live over 20 years. They typically inhabit savanna and grassland, although they may take to bush and forest. Lions are unusually social compared to other cats. A lion pride consists of related females and offspring and a small number of dominant males. Groups of female lions typically hunt together, preying mostly on large ungulates.
